The 2009 Azera is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in two trims, the GLS and the Limited.

Água do Radiador (sistema de arrefecimento)

Antigamente a maior preocupação era refrigerar os motores, até porque do calor gerado pela queima do combustível, apenas ¼ era usado como força de trabalho, e os outros ¾ eram dissipado pelo sistema de refrigeração. Devido as mudanças em suas características, o sistema de refrigeração, como era chamado, passa a ser sistema de arrefecimento, e a água do radiador passou a ser chamada de solução arrefecedora (água + aditivo).

Como podemos observar os motores modernos trabalham mais quentes, reaproveitando parte do calor que antes era eliminado pelo sistema de refrigeração. Foi constatado pela engenharia que os motores mais quentes sofrem menos desgaste, já que as ligas metálicas que compõem estes motores atingem seu ponto máximo de dilatação, com isso reduzem os atritos e sofrem um desgaste menor.

O radiador automotivo, faz parte do sistema responsável pelo resfriamento da água que circula pelo bloco do motor, fazendo com que a temperatura não exceda os limites aconselháveis para o bom funcionamento do motor.
A temperatura ideal para a água é de 70º C nos motores à gasolina e de 80º C nos motores à álcool e à diesel.
A água quente que sai do bloco do motor, circula forçadamente pelo interior dos tubos do radiador, onde é resfriada.
Essa água é resfriada porque através do bloco, é forçada a circulação de ar, através de um ventilador. Usualmente, em automóveis e caminhões, o ventilador trabalha succionando o ar para aproveitar o efeito do movimento do veículo.

Quando a temperatura excede o limite, pode ocorrer:
  • Dilatação dos componentes móveis, causando aumento do atrito, chegando a bloquear o movimento.
  • Superaquecimento dos materiais aplicados na construção do motor, que podem se dilatar.
  • Deteriorização do óleo lubrificante.
  • Aumento da pressão no motor, podendo romper uma mangueira, tampa ou a boca do radiador.
Resumindo, o radiador é usado para que em conjunto com o sistema de bombeamento de água e do fluxo de ar, que é gerado por uma hélice, seja capaz de dissipar para o ambiente o calor gerado pelo motor.

Para o bom funcionamento do Sistema de Arrefecimento de seu veículo:

1 - Prolongue a vida do radiador utilizando fluido/aditivo: Consulte o manual do proprietário de seu veículo.

2 - A troca do fluido/aditivo deve ser realizada a cada 6/12 meses.
Atenção: Fluido/aditivo vencido trabalha contra o sistema.

3 - Verifique constantemente o nível de água do radiador , nível baixo de água pode significar vazamento. Verifique: radiador, mangueiras, abraçadeiras, tampa do reservatório e a bomba d’água).

Atenção: Evite completar água com o radiador quente.

4 - Vazamento de água gera perda de pressão do sistema, com isto, o motor trabalha mais, o consumo de combustível aumenta e o veículo perde rendimento.

5 - Para fazer a limpeza do sistema, o ideal é retirar do local o radiador e o reservatório de água e lavá-los com produtos especiais.

6 – É importante trocar a água do bloco do motor quando realizar a limpeza do sistema.

7 - Temperatura do veículo acima do normal, pode ser problema do sistema de arrefecimento.
Atenção: Evite andar com o carro nesta ocasião.

Atenção: Dicas para veículos normais e intercoolados.

A falta de uso de aditivo causa, principalmente:

  • Travamento da válvula termostática;
  • Ressecamento das mangueiras;
  • Formação barrosa no radiador, provocando o entupimento e causando fervura.A fervura, causa superaquecimento e pode resultar no empenamento do cabeçote, causando perda de potência. Também queima a junta do cabeçote e compromete o consumo de gasolina.

Principais motivos de mau funcionamento
1 - Entupimento da tubulação, causado pelo acúmulo de ferrugem trazida do bloco do motor ou pela utilização de água com impurezas ou por aditivo vencido.
2 - Entupimento das aletas, causado pelo acúmulo de partículas sólidas, tais como: insetos, poeira, folhas, serragem, etc.
3 - Mau funcionamento da válvula termostática, ocasionando perda indevida de água/fluido e conseqüentemente aumento de temperatura.
4 – Tampa do reservatório de água com problema, ocasionando perda de água e pressão do sistema.
5 – Mangueiras/abraçadeiras provocando vazamento de água/fluido e perda de pressão.
6 – Bomba d’ água com vazamento ou com problema, ocasionando falta de circulação da água/fluido e conseqüentemente aumento da temperatura.

This sporty theme is continued at the rear, with sharp-looking taillights, an oversized two-tone rear bumper, a rear spoiler, and a sloping backlight.

To enhance the tunability of its most dynamic performance car ever, Hyundai has teamed up with GReddy Performance Parts to manufacture products for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. These high-performance parts will be displayed on the "GReddy X-Gen Street Genesis Coupe" show car at SEMA 2009. The vehicle from GReddy is designed for the enthusiast looking to make modifications for daily driving or a weekend at the track. All of the GReddy parts designed for the Genesis Coupe are planned to be released as a production kit and available for enthusiasts everywhere. The vehicle will be on display at the Hyundai booth at the SEMA Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center from Nov. 3 - Nov. 6, 2009 (Booth # 24387).

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T will follow the GReddy Total Tune-Up theme that will not only increase the performance of the engine, but also improve handling and braking. The finished car will blend reliable street performance with a powerful driving experience. The initial performance targets of the GReddy-powered Genesis Coupe will be 350 horsepower and 320 ft/lbs of torque with a 0-60 time under six seconds. Following SEMA, GReddy plans to make additional engine modifications, pushing horsepower to nearly 500.

"The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a perfect car for the automotive enthusiast and the GReddy products are designed to maximize the performance capabilities of the vehicle," said Kenji Sumino, general manager, GReddy Performance Parts. "The Genesis Coupe is the ideal car for SEMA and we are building upon the overall concepts originally designed by Hyundai engineers and are looking forward to developing a must-see car at this year's SEMA Show."

Mechanically, GReddy plans to include a GReddy Performance Products Turbo Upgrade Kit, large front-mounted intercooler kit, a SE Spectrum Elite cat-back exhaust system, MX racing downpipe, Type-S fully adjustable coil-over suspension and numerous other modifications. The vehicle will also feature GReddy six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers.

"The performance parts from GReddy allow enthusiasts to capitalize on the rear-wheel drive Genesis platform," said Michael Deitz, manager, product development, Hyundai Motor America. "The modifications made by GReddy to the Genesis Coupe 2.0T will highlight the performance capabilities of the vehicle that can be achieved in a real-world setting."

Styling modifications to the GReddy Genesis Coupe will include an Aero lip spoiler, carbon fiber hood, aggressive rear spoiler, Volk Racing G2 wheels and Toyo performance tires. The unique vehicle graphics will be designed and completed in collaboration with artists from Hyundai's North American Design Center in Irvine, Calif. Inside, SEMA Show attendees will find Sparco racing seats, modified gauges, boost controller and a turbo timer as well as a remote switching system.

O motor utilizado no 911 GT2 RS Boxer de 3.8 litros com dois turbocompressores que o levam de 0 a 100 km/h em apenas 3,5 segundos chegando a máxima de 330 km/h.

Hyundai Powers Up to Save Fuel

Hyundai Team R is entering the Global Green Challenge 2009 event with two new 2010 Santa Fe 7 seat SUVs.
The cars will feature Hyundai's new R series turbo Diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, offering drivers 32% more power alongside fuel consumption and emissions that have been reduced by 10%.
Set to go on sale later this year, the new Santa Fe R-series will have its first Australian outing in the Global Green Challenge, which runs from Darwin to Adelaide this month. Under the direction of motoring expert John Cadogan, both vehicles will cover the 3,027 km journey in six days, setting off on Friday 24th October.
Like the award-winning i30, i30cw and iLoad van range, the new Santa Fe will feature revised suspension which has been optimised for Australia's demanding road conditions, as well as the option of a new six-speed automatic transmission.
"Hyundai will demonstrate how significant fuel economy savings can be made by driving a latest generation AWD seven-seat SUV," said Kevin McCann, Sales and Marketing Director of Hyundai Motor Company Australia. "It will be a real world test - no wing mirrors folded flat or anything like that - and will show owners how much they can save in terms of both fuel costs and reduced emissions by driving the latest generation Santa Fe."
Hyundai is no stranger to proving its fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness. In 2007, Cadogan drove an i30 CRDi in the Panasonic World Solar Challenge (again, from Darwin to Adelaide), achieving averaged fuel figures of just 3.2L/100km.
