At the end of the second quarter of this year concern Fiat Group losses amounted to 179 million euros, while during the same period of 2008 on automakers received a profit of 646 million euros. According to the publication of The Detroit Free Press, the first quarter also proved disappointing for the company - the loss of "Fiat" of 411 million euros.
Sales of Fiat Group in the second quarter fell by 22.5 percent, while automakers revenue was about 13.2 billion euros (17 billion a year earlier). In doing so, for the first six months of this year compared with the same period in 2008 on sales of Italian machinery companies in Europe fell by 1.1 per cent. Overall, industry sales falling to around 11 per cent. Operating profit "Fiat" for the second quarter amounted to 158 million euros - by 86 per cent less than before.
As specified in the Fiat, the cause of loss is a global financial crisis, which continues to have a negative impact on demand. Despite this, the company's specialists predict that by the end of the year Fiat will get a profit of one billion euros.
