In August Edinburgh (Scotland) is a place of pilgrimage of annual festivals (within the limits of festival take place set of thematic festivals). During this period the city population doubles because of flow of tourists.

The Edinburgh International Festival of Science «Edinburgh Fringe»: for visitors and participants the various and interesting scientific program: seminars, lectures, symposiums, debate, exhibitions which take place on many platforms of a city: in scientific laboratories, the exhibition centres, theatres, a botanical garden and the National museum.
The Edinburgh Parade of Military Orchestras (annually since 1950): military orchestras of the different countries of the world take part in this grandiose musical-theatrical show.
